IKEA Loures modernizes restaurant concept with PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS self-service kiosks
The Swedish group, the global leader in home and office furniture, has chosen the Loures store in Portugal to test a new concept of restauration. A pioneering project at the global level, which amounted to 1.2 million euros.
According to Kevin Coventry, director of Ikea Loures, "It's hard to have a fantastic store experience if you're hungry." It is for this purpose that the group has been developing the IKEA FOOD, the catering area that bets on providing excellent meals at affordable prices.
The importance of family comfort is paramount for the group, and as such the catering area has been heavily invested, with new menus, a completely refurbished space and a much more efficient meal and order service, with the QSR self-service kiosks of PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS, in a project led by Levoo..
According to the director of the store itself, the queues were delayed and should be improved. The introduction of checkout kiosks has enabled customers to automatically order and pay for meals, significantly reducing waiting time and improving the management of the entire service.
"Kiosks have improved waiting times significantly. It depends on the time of day, but we go from an average of 6 to 8 minutes of waiting, to 3 minutes, "says Kevin Coventry.
For a catering area that already serves more than 3000 meals a day, which has the collaboration of eight dozen employees, was critical to the modernization of the service.
PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS self-service restaurant kiosks (QSR) introduce improvements relevant to everyone involved:

The kiosk model chosen for this purpose is the XEKOUT QSR SU3, which provides all the functionality required, with a minimalist design and worthy of the Scandinavian group.
The solution was implemented by Levoo, a Portuguese startup partner of PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS, which integrates in the kiosks an innovative application, which allows the customer to choose comfortably their menu and make the payment. The application is also available for smartphone.
Sales are reflecting the bet. "The new offerings and the new concept are, as expected, very positively affecting sales. Without revealing yet numbers because it is early to analyze the trend, we can say that our customers are accepting these news very well and appreciate, more and more, to be surprised in particular in our area of restauration, "says Nuno Ceitil.
