Smart sensors are resources increasingly used in IoT (Internet of Things) devices and, consequently, in Smart Cities. As such, PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS has invested in the integration of sensors in multimedia kiosks, in order to optimize the operation of public services and improve the population’s quality of life.
In a Smart City there are several sensors, distributed throughout the city, that provide information to public administrations or directly to citizens, by Wi-Fi and in real-time. In fact, there are many types of sensors that monitor the various operations. The same happens with the sensors that integrate the multimedia kiosks, which are diverse and have multiple functions.
Besides, smart sensors enable more accurate and automated collection of environmental data, as well as communication with external devices. This way, these sensors play a key role in technologically advanced security systems.
Because smart sensors provide real-time alerts, it is possible to provide assistance immediately whenever it is needed. This is because there is a direct connection between the sensors and the infrastructure. As a result, the flow of information and responsiveness to market conditions is accelerated.
Weather Alerting (automated weather sensors and alerts)
Alert systems integrated into multimedia kiosks can be easily connected to environmental and weather sensors, and can also be configured to send automatic alerts to residents and tourists in case of an emergency.
Automation also covers variable message signs and warning light signals.
Multimedia kiosks from PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS can integrate an emergency alert system connected to the Portuguese Civil Protection platform, more precisely from Portugal Continental, through which it is possible to inform the population about warnings and public emergencies, such as fires, accidents, climate changes, among other occurrences.
Sensors
Proximity Sensor
Through a proximity sensor system, the multimedia kiosks from PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS are able to detect the presence or movement of people.
With this photoelectric sensor, various software features can be implemented, such as the ability to activate content only with the presence of users.
With the detection, registration and distance functions, the kiosks can determine whether a person is approaching or moving away, thus enabling the activation of different content.
Temperature Sensor
Another sensor that can be integrated into multimedia kiosks is the temperature sensor. With this sensor, it is possible to know the ambient temperature and the temperature of the kiosk in real-time.
Through this sensor, the system can automatically control the fans and the air conditioning, obtaining an effective temperature control.
Humidity Sensor
The humidity sensor is another sensor that can be integrated into a kiosk. This way, it is possible to know the humidity level of the environment and the equipment in real-time.
Through this sensor, the system is able to obtain detailed statistics of the environmental humidity in real-time and at any time.
Vibration Sensor
It is also possible to install a bump/ tilt sensor, embedded with an adjustable pre-alarm, which will activate the alarm if the kiosk is subject to “jolts” that may indicate a possible intrusion attempt.
The alarm system can also be connected to the remote management system or send alerts by SMS or email.
Door Sensor
With a magnetic door contact switch alarm, any unauthorized opening of the door sends an alert to the control system and a siren is activated at the kiosk.
It is also possible to control the door lock with an optional interface or with a multifunctional remote control transmitter.
Ambient and air quality sensor
One of the features of the PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS kiosks is the integration of environmental sensors and, more specifically, sensors that measure the air quality index (AQI). The multimedia kiosks allow the display, in a reliable way, of this same information.
Thus, all important air quality information is available in one place and monitors, in real-time, the air quality in a specific space or area, regardless of the weather conditions.
PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS integrates in its digital solutions particle sensors, gas sensors and sensors that measure the air quality as well as the noise level in cities. This, because one of the major goals of PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS is to contribute to the sustainability of cities. This way, it provides solutions that aim to improve the quality of life, the efficiency of urban operations and services, ensuring that they meet the needs of present and future generations.
Smart sensors effectively allow companies/ entities to continue to produce in a transparent, efficient and quality way. They are, in fact, an asset when it comes to improving the productivity and efficiency of operations.
Smart sensors are closely related to the IoT (Internet of Things) and, therefore, are fundamental in all equipment produced by PARTTEAM & OEMKIOSKS, which intends to continue being part of this technological evolution and developing quality interactive solutions.
